Aesop’s Fables no. 2 follows in the tracks of the artist’s previous projects and blends topics from his latest works. The minimalist performance with one protagonist supplemented with a projection and an original soundtrack composed by the artist is based on twelve fables from the 6th century BC. Their text, recited by the performer, a young artist, becomes a modern reinterpretation of archaic moralities and turns into scraps of references, and in combination with picture into an innovative, slightly surrealistic rendering of several ancient tales. The project’s visual aspect refers to conceptual art of the 1970s. The stage design echoes the space of a former department store. The resulting synthesis combines spoken word with sound.
